Zagnut
The Zagnut candy bar was first released in 1930 by the D.L Clark Company. The Zagnut is one of the few candies that doesn’t contain any chocolate, although it does contain a small amount of cocoa. Since there is no chocolate to melt, the candy has seen a resurgence among U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. The “zig” in the name comes from the phrase “zig-zag” which was a popular phrase in the ‘30s. The “nut” comes from the coconut coating or the peanut center.
