Idaho Spud is a candy bar that was created in 1918 by Thomas “T.O.” Smith creator of the Idaho Candy Company which was founded in 1901. It was originally distributed throughout the Pacific Northwest. The original slogan was that it was “the candy bar that made Idaho famous”. The candy consists of a cocoa-flavored marshmallow and covered in a compound chocolate of chocolate, sugar, and vegetable oils.
